Before you start 

Log into your Google Business Profile If you are a local business make you shoot your video within the business area you have provided on your Google Business Profile. Also make sure you have your mobile phones Location Services on.

Video Quality and Length

• Google recommend HD quality: This typically means a resolution of 720p or higher (1080p is preferred). 

• Google state a video length of 30 seconds to 5 minutes. But from what I have read online a video length of about 2 minutes works well.

Basic Video Script

Introduction 

I have used a Sole trader Plumber in this example script, so you will need to adapt the script for your type of business.

Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I am the owner of [Business Name], a sole trader plumbing business based in [Your Location]. In this video, I will be verifying my business for Google My Business. I will show you my identification, my business premises, and some examples of my plumbing work.

Business Identification

First, I want to show you my identification. [Hold up your government-issued ID, ensuring the relevant details are visible]. As you can see, this is my [type of ID] and it confirms my identity as the owner of [Business Name]. Next, let's take a look at my business address. [Show the exterior of your business premises or your home address, depending on your situation]. As you can see, the business name [Business Name] is clearly displayed on [sign, house number, etc.].

Business Operations

Now, I'd like to give you a brief overview of my business. [Show your workspace, tools, or equipment]. As you can see, I have all the necessary tools and equipment to carry out plumbing work efficiently. If you have a company van, include: My company van is also clearly branded with my business name and contact information.

To demonstrate my plumbing expertise, let's take a quick look at a common plumbing tool. [Show a wrench or drain snake]. These are essential tools for any plumber.

Wrap it up

Final steps
